Fear of the Trigger
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” - Franklin D. Roosevelt.
This is a strong and powerful statement AND if you dig underneath the surface and look within you will find the truth.
A trigger is a signal that something within is unresolved and needs to be addressed. And many of you, at times myself included, want to avoid a trigger…to avoid the discomfort it brings.
You continue to create ways to avoid it and yet it continues to find a way to come back. You turn a blind-eye, beat it down, try to bury it under layers of beliefs and behaviors and/or try to control it and everyone around you to conform a certain way so it does not rear its head and bite you again.
It will keep coming back and you will keep locking it out which is literally locking you down…shutting you into a smaller and smaller box until you can’t breathe anymore. Not recognizing who you are or how you got here but feeling so righteous because you are scared to face the trigger…scared to face what the trigger will reveal.
And yet fear is what trapped you there in the first place. Fear of the trigger has you by the balls and you are so conditioned to conform to it…to react to it because you don’t know how to respond to it.
Is this truly how you want to live life?
Confined, conformed and twisted in a small box?
There is another way…there has to be another way…a better way to live. But will you never know if you are afraid to look at the trigger.
Much Love & Light,
