Are you free?

--

I was having a conversation with a client when I asked him this question, “Are you free?”.

He hesitated and replied, “No”.

I followed up with, “how are you not free?”.

“I can’t afford the lifestyle I want.”

I think many of us can resonate with this and have felt “not free” when you can’t do or have something that you want.

And you suffer when you attach a meaning about yourself to it.

Freedom is not about doing or having something. Living from that perspective will give you bouts of temporary freedom but you will need to continue doing and having more to feel free. That doesn’t feel free to me. Does it to you?

Chasing freedom is actually the opposite of free.

Freedom is a state of being. Not something you do or have.

Of course you would like to do something to have something AND the doesn’t mean you are free if you do have it AND it doesn’t mean you are not free if you don’t have it.

A lack of freedom comes from what you make it mean about yourself when you don’t do or have something. When it means nothing about you then you are free. Let that soak in!

Much Love & Light,
